Big Buck Contest Rules

Updated: April 23, 2006

  1. You must check the buck you harvest at our Official Check Station.  The deer must still be intact and no older than three days since time of harvest (drying causes weight loss, your benefit).  Since our check station is not open every day, the deer can be tagged with a state tag from another check station.  Our only concern is that the deer is still capable of having its weight taken and rack scored at the time of check-in at our station.  Reason for this is we don't want a rack that was pulled out of the freezer from 2 years ago.

  2. You must have the weight and/or rack size of your buck measured by one of our qualified officials.

  3. Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

Archery

Firearm
Weight Weight
1.  First Place 1.  First Place
2. Second Place 2. Second Place
3. Third Place 3. Third Place
  1. If you win a prize, it must be claimed within 45 days from the season closing.

  2. Registration is free.  Support our sponsors, they support you!

  3. In the case of a tie, the number of points on the rack will serve as the tie breaker.  If the weight and number of points are the same between the bucks, the racks will need to be scored and highest score is the winner.

  4. Anyone found guilty of poaching or breaking laws in the harvesting of the deer, under any circumstance, will be disqualified from the event.  If that person has been awarded their prize, the other prize (standings or placings) will remain the same and WCA reserves the right to revoke that prize.

If you want to be eligible for the prizes and involved in the competition, please follow these rules.   If you still have questions, email us, and we will be glad to assist you.

ATTENTION:  We need sponsors for this event.  If your company wants to be listed on a site that receives 60,000+ hits per month, contact us.  We will list your name, number, and link from our prizes page and include you in our fliers and mailings for this event.
